My First Dipping Experience

Let me start this post with a little background on myself. My name is Heather and I started dipping my nails 3 weeks ago. In that time Ive done 1 YES 1 manicure. Up until now I couldn't find a product that worked for me. Regular nail polish would chip off the same day, gel polishes I would get a 3 day max wear out of a product that was supposed to have longevity, and acrylics were pricey and badly damaged my nails. I found out about nail dipping via the wonder world wide web I was highly interested but was afraid it would be just to complicating for an average person like me. I spent hours upon hours watching videos on YouTube from brands such as SNS, Revel, and Kiara Skye. Finally I got word Walmart yes WALMART of all places was now carrying a dip powder system from Color Club called Serendipity. I quickly hopped online to check the color selection out and found 1 that was perfect for me the Oh La La French Manicure set. This set was $20 yes TWENTY dollars I felt like I hit a jackpot by finding a starter kit so cheap. It was worth the plunge to me I had to do it at this point I came home and jumped in, but as I jumped in I quickly realized I don't even know how to do the french manicure I'm just going to take the easy way out and use just the gold glitter. I started to follow the steps the whole process took me about an hour as I did it over tips but it worked! It really worked! I was shocked and delighted and told everyone I could tell. Over the last 3 weeks my nails had held up so well that's not to say Ive had a few snags along the way because I have. Out of 10 nails I have 8 intact but I don't blame this on the actual dip set I blame it on user error. One error was on my right thumb I didn't lay my tip flush against my natural nail so it lifted. My second issue was my left pointer finger I had to re-dip a few times because my color wasn't coming out shiny it kept drying so dull so I ended up with a lot of bulk once I got it right. I hated my pointer finger and I did what no one should do I picked and picked and plucked it off my pointer finger was sore for days! Moral of the story properly soak or drill your powders off do not pick them off. So here I am head over heals in love with the 1 product I found that finally works for me dip powders. I thank Color Club Serendipity for sending me on my way to a spiraling addiction of buying nail powders, nail accessories and plates for stamping. Please stay tuned as I continue to update my blog with everything from nail mail to mani pictures.
